Spring Equinox Restorative Flow + Herbal Tea Meditation

Emerge slowly and mindfully from the soft, quiet place of winter to the activity of spring with yoga and supportive herbal allies.
We will begin our practice with intention setting and a guided meditation with a flower essence. The one-hour asana sequence will be slow and supportive, to help break up the stagnation of winter, freeing up space and movement for new spring growth. This workshop will include a gentle warm-up, some grounding and strengthening postures, and several opening, restorative poses. Our shared savanasa will be a silent herbal tea meditation, with plants meant to encourage and support the changing of seasons for the mind, body, and spirit. Come open to receive, move your body, and learn about a few local herbs to help you spring into spring.
Melissa is a practicing herbalist and yoga instructor. She received her training at the Elderberry School of Botanical Medicine in Portland, OR in herbs and clinical herbalism and is a RYT 200. She is passionate about using plants and movement as medicine and enjoys empowering others by sharing these concepts.
